SkyRoot
SkyRoot art is about compassion, joy, radiant expression, and our connection to the ancientness of the natural world. It is about slowing down and weaving every stitch with care and intention. It is about creating something beautiful from the heart and inspiring one another to tap into the creative playfulness within.
You might see Skylar making art at live music shows, festivals, pop-up markets, or in her cozy home in West Asheville. She was taught by her grandmother and Aunt to sew as a kid and is inspired by handcrafts and "home crafts," and the idea of bringing these craft practices that have been passed down from generation to generation into both fine art spaces and the music event world.
Skylar predominantly works with yarn to create wall tapestries, but she is also a designer for Royal Peasantry and loves to sew and create costumes and wearable art. You can find her clothing creations at the storefront in Downtown Asheville.Â
